Back in Morelia.
I’ve been back in Morelia for a couple of days now. I’m getting settled into my studio and spent today gathering groceries and even cooked my first meal tonight. A quesadilla! Yesterday Abraham and I went to a museum and then met the Tuesday expat group for “Continental Rummy”. Life is good.

Walk to La Presa.
Today we set out on a waking tour to a damn or “presa” outside the city center. We walked through lush green parks, and upscale neighborhoods which once housed foreign embassies during a brief period when Guanajuato was the Mexican capital. It was a long day of walking but good to see another side of the city. After a nap we caught a religious festival complete with loud bangs, marching bands and dancers.

Guanajuato walking tour.
Today we ventured out for breakfast, and then walked the streets of Guanajuato. We took a cable car up to the top of the hill, which gave us a good view of the city. Afterwords, we went to the Diego Rivera museum which is actually house in the home that he was born in.
Guanajuato at night.
After two days in the beautiful and modern city of Queretaro we arrived in Guanajuato late yesterday afternoon. The city at night reminds of towns across Europe. Sidewalk cafes, beautiful architecture and bustling with life.
The beautiful “callejoneados” groups serenade anyone who wishes it. They roam the alleys until late at night singing and playing music. You can feel the love all around.
