Bucharest.

We’ve had about 4 days in Bucharest before we fly back to the US. The train from Constanta was full which made for an interesting experience with 2 fully loaded bikes and conductor discretion to allow them. All went well but a little bit stressful. We went to the closest bike shop in Bucharest and they had 2 boxes for us to pick up on Monday. Could not have been easier! Mark came and joined us for a couple of days on his way to Slovakia. Bucharest is grand but a little shabby. The temps have been in the 100’s🥵

A Day of Rest!

Spent the morning at one of those beach spots with lounges and umbrellas with Chris watching the kite surfers. My next adventure? I’ve always wanted to learn that but I’m not sure I can do the sun anymore. 

Afterwards lunch and a nap before taking the bus to explore old town and have dinner. A good day of relaxation. 

The hostel js interesting. Very small and not well ventilated. Many international guests coming and going. I’m looking forward to Bucharest  and having more space and hopefully good a/c. It’s been hot!  Get me back to the mountains 😊

Day 54 - Adamclisi to Constanta.

Constanta!  The end!  2660 miles. Today was a difficult ride of 43 miles and 1500 ft of climb  on busy roads with heavy traffic at times. We rode by a memorial in Adamclisi before hitting the road. Entered Constanta on the busy DN3 and checked into EOL 777 Hostel where Chris was waiting for us. Three days of relaxing in Constanta before heading to Bucharest. 

Day 53 - Silistra to Adamclisi.

Hilly and hot ride to Adamclisi today. About 44 miles with 2500 feet of climb.  I stopped and toured a monastery along the way.
