I spent the last three nights at the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. This is a somewhat remote part of the park and does not attract large crowds. Needles are rock spires that appear thin and somewhat pointy. I did a very strenuous hike to Chesler Park, and the adjoining Joint trail. Parts of the trail were very strenuous and required lots of scrambling over rocks, through tunnels and long hallways of rock. 12 miles in total. I also did a 50 mile ride out of the park and into Bears Ears national monument which is spectacular. Tomorrow I will head towards Moab.
